Presenter
William Geisler, MD, MPH
Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology, University of Alabama at Birmingham
Dr. William M. Geisler is the research director and clinical consultant for the University of Alabama at Birmingham diagnostic mycoplasma laboratory with expertise in adult infectious disease. He completed internal medicine residency at the University of Michigan and an infectious diseases fellowship at the University of Washington, where he also obtained a Master of Public Health in epidemiology. He is an established chlamydia and M. genitalium research program funded by federal and non-federal sources. With more than 20 years of clinical experience in STI evaluation and management, he provides STI education and training through the Alabama-North Carolina STD/HIV Prevention Training Center. He is on the editorial board of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and has served as an expert consultant for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.
