Focus Areas

ADOLESCENT HEALTH
HCET’s adolescent programs provide training, technical assistance, funding, and evaluation support to schools and community-based organizations so that they can implement positive youth development and sex education programs for teens.

REPRODUCTIVE AND SEXUAL HEALTH ACROSS THE LIFESPAN
HCET’s reproductive and sexual health initiatives help provide skills-based education, training, and technical assistance directly to healthcare providers, educators, and the public health workforce.

STI AND HIV PREVENTION
HCET partners with federal agencies, local and state health departments, and communities to provide evidence-based, de-stigmatizing STI/HIV prevention strategies, and ensure community-based providers are accessible and highly skilled.

Midwest Trauma Informed
Training Center (M-TITC)
Trauma Informed Care (TIC) is a priority in healthcare and rightfully so. In response to community need, HCET developed M-TITC. M-TITC makes in-person and virtual training, resources, and TA in TIC available to healthcare providers across the Midwest.
HCET Disease Intervention Training Center (DITC)
The National Network of Disease Intervention Training Centers (NNDITC) supports the Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS) community by providing a network of training centers, including a knowledge-based training center, a skills-based training center, and four regional training centers. HCET is one of four centers providing training to the DIS workforce across the country. To learn more about all DITC trainings and resources, click here.
